Install Binding Tension Nut & Bolt

Tools Needed

  • 3mm hex key
  • flat head screw driver (optional)

STEP 1: Position Spring & rear binding

Hold the pedal upright so that the side your installing the binding nut (5) and bolt (2) on is at the bottom. Make sure the springs (3,4) are pushed to the side and oriented as show in the image below.

 

STEP 2: Prepare Binding Tension Nut

Place binding tension nut (5) onto the Springs (3,4) with the more pronounced cut outs point down. See image for reference.


STEP 3: Load binding

Slowly push the binding (6) upward with your finger, letting the binding tension nut (5) settle flat on the springs (3,4). If the nut moves in this process you can reposition it with you finger or a flat head screw driver. See photo for reference of correct positioning.


STEP 4: Install tension bolt

Holding both the binding tension nut (5) and binding (6) in place with your fingers, thread the tension bolt (2) into the back of the binding tension nut. Once you have thread purchase you are good to let go of the binding and nut.



Congratulations, you have reinstalled your binding tension nut!

Ensure pedal is adjusted and tensioned to your preference before riding.
